It’s called Ihsan, which in Arabic means excellence, and is the first think tank of Muslims in Italy. At a public presentation, its 35 founders and members, lay and religious people, defined their objectives and commitment. The aim of Ishan, they said, is to fight “terrorism of Islamic origin and a creeping wave of Islamophobia” with the ultimate goal of “creating the conditions very much needed for a positive coexistence based on mutual respect”.
AGRICULTURE REBORN THANKS TO FOREIGN ENTREPRENEURS
Foreign farmers contribute to the growth of the ‘Made in Italy’ brand, first of all by avoiding a halving of workers in the sector. This is a key point highlighted in the latest report published by the Italian Farmers Confederation (Cia). According to the study, discussed at a seminar in Padua recently, some 12,000 foreign owners of farms pay state taxes for six billion Euros and social security for five.

SUDAN, INVESTMENT FORUM TO BE HELD IN ROME
Connecting the Sudan to the rest of the world: that’s the commitment at the center of a seminar which will be held in Rome on 9 May. The meetings, promoted by Ubae Bank and Confindustria, the General Confederation of Italian Industry, will be attended by the Ministers of Economy and Investment of the Sudan. The seminar will take place a few weeks before the expected withdrawal of the US sanctions against Khartoum, which have been imposed on the Sudan since 1997.
VIETNAM: ITALIAN COMPANIES COMING FROM CHINA
More and more Italian companies have been transfering their activities from China to Vietnam, experts of the Institute of Foreign Trade (ICE) pointed out. According to them, the trend is supported by opportunities that starting from 2018 might be guaranteed by a free trade agreement between the European Union and Vietnam. The Italian presence in the country is quite significant thanks to groups such as Piaggio, Datalogic and Ariston.
